Motivated high school artists are invited to this hour of independent study on projects designed to help add layers of meaning and depth to their art pieces. In this class, students will hone their artistic voices with projects based on contest prompts, scholarship applications, and art challenges all aimed at using art to envision a better world. We'll experiment with a variety of art making approaches including value studies, observational drawing, making thumbnail sketches, and basic color theory, and we'll celebrate our successes along the way.
