Between Light & Darkness

What does it mean to exist between light and darkness—above and below ground, clear and unclear? We often focus on what we can see, but like a pendulum, both light and dark define each other. The seen and unseen are always connected.

Mycelium embodies this balance. It’s a vast network of roots and fibers that carries information and life force for fungi. Often invisible, it can also be immense—the largest known mycelium spans 10 square kilometers in Oregon, making it the biggest living organism on Earth.

20% of the proceeds of all sales goes to support NECS programs.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Julie Overskei (JO) holds an MFA in Fine Arts from UCLA, where she focused on New Forms and Concepts. After graduating, she built a dynamic career in New York City, working in multi-media production design across theater, corporate, and educational settings.

Driven by a long-standing passion for medicine and healing, Julie pursued massage therapy, completing an 18-month program and passing her State and National Board exams in Massage Therapy, Hydrotherapy, and Bodywork in 2013—with flying colors.

Today, she is living her dream, running a thriving massage practice and sharing her work with an incredible community of clients.
